Subdivision procedures

Instructions for Subdivision Approval:

A sewage planning module must be completed and submitted unless city sewage is available. (For a sewage planning module; contact the Washington County Sewage Council at 724-223-0504).

After subdivision is completed by Engineers, the Mylar (plastic copy) and three paper copies must be taken to the Washington County Planning Commission for review. When their review is completed, they send two copies of the signed plan to the Township along with letters reporting their findings.

When the prints are received from the Washington County Planning Commission by the Township, the landowner is contacted to let them know they may pick up the signed Mylar and other copies at the Washington County Planning Commission Office.

The next step is to bring the following to the Donegal Township Municipal Office: Mylar and any additional copies, sewage planning module or receipt of sewage tap-in or a copy of a current bill if this is a pre-existing sewage system, and the completed subdivision application. The Secretary will notify the Board of Supervisors at their monthly meeting.  Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Municipal Building, located at 34 N. Liberty Street, West Alexander, PA 15376. The final approval or disapproval will be made by the Board at the next meeting. The landowner or a representative must attend the second meeting. If approved, the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors will sign all copies of the plan and the Secretary will process by attesting and sealing the subdivision plan. The signed copies will be available for pick up the next day.

THE PLAN MUST BE RECORDED WITHIN NINETY (90) DAYS AFTER THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS APPROVE AND SIGN THE PLAN.
